Welcome to the ICA-Albi collection
Presentation of the research and training center
The Institute Clément Ader UMR CNRS 5312 (ICA) is a research laboratory dedicated to the study of mechanical structures, systems and processes. Our sectors of activity are in line with those of the mechanical industries, with a particular attention given to projects in the fields of aeronautics, space, transport and energy. Our work generally focuses on behaviour modeling, instrumentation and durability studies of structures or products of interest. An important part of our research is focused on composite materials, which nowadays take an important place in structures. The Institute Clément Ader is under the supervision of five centers :IMT Mines Albi, INSA Toulouse, ISAE-SUPAERO, University of Toulouse III et CNRS, and counts with 250 people. The Institute Clément Ader-Albi (ICA-Albi), is a component of ICA whose staff participates in three of the four research groups of ICA :
- Composite Materials and Structures
- Surfaces, Machining, Materials, Tools
- Measurement, Identification, Control, Monitoring
The challenge of ICA-Albi is to optimize the tools or the processes of shaping of materials (metals, composites, polymers, glasses...) as well as to study the relations between microstructure, process and behavior, in particular for the sectors of aeronautics and space. ICA-Albi has its research platform on the campus of IMT Mines Albi, the MIMAUSA platform.
